THESEIS VET model

THESEIS aims at developing an appropriate e-learning training model in the field of occupational Health and Safety of individuals working in the pollution management sector of eco-industry.

The project seeks to determine the knowledge, skills and competences, that the particular workforce needs to acquire. The two target groups of the project are “Wastewater operators” and “Waste management professionals”. According to a transnational  survey that took place in the initial stage of the project, common requirements of education and training for these professions are in the fields of:

1)       Waste Water Sector

  • Wastewater Safety Work Procedures
  • Chemical Hazards
  • Physical Hazards
  • Biological Hazards
  • Fire Safety
  • Personal Protection Equipment
  • Confined Spaces

2)       Solid Waste Management Sector

  • Chemical Hazards

  • Biological Hazards
  • Fire Safety
  • Personal Protection Equity
The training material was built based on the Learning Outcomes derived from the Transnational Survey Report, consisting of the following four discrete chapters:

I. Introduction

ΙΙ. Plant Overview

III. Hazards (Theory – diagnostic test)

IV. Safety Work Procedures (Theory – diagnostic test).
THESEIS VET model uses all the necessary learning services made available from the Virtual Community Platform for the preparation of the training courses. The configuration of THESEIS training material was appointed to an external expert who created an interactive platform, based on a 3-D perspective layout of a realistic plan of a waste water treatment unit with graphic models on flash technology, thus benefiting on extreme quick loading. The produced deliverable is quite flexible to be used and embed in flash players, browsers, stand alone flash (exe), web sites or even as a part of other multimedia platforms.
